FC Bayern are apparently looking more closely at Charles De Ketelaere. The Belgian is seen internally as a possible alternative to Anthony Gordon – and Munich are not denying their interest
FC Bayern’s transfer plans for their attacking players continue to run at full speed. While Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United is still considered the preferred solution, Charles De Ketelaere is apparently also increasingly coming into focus
As reported by kicker, the Belgian from Atalanta Bergamo is currently a concrete alternative to Gordon. Particularly interesting: according to the report, Bayern have not denied their interest in De Ketelaere when asked
The main reason for this is the financial dimension of a possible Gordon transfer, with Newcastle United still demanding around 80 million pounds for the England international – a sum that Munich are apparently not prepared to pay at present
De Ketelaere, on the other hand, would be considerably cheaper and has a similar profile

The Belgian international can be deployed almost anywhere in the attack. The 25-year-old is equally at home in central attacking midfield, on the right wing or even in the center of the attack
It is precisely this flexibility that makes him so interesting for FC Bayern. Anthony Gordon is also valued internally for his versatility
Added to this are De Ketelaere’s technical quality and his strength between the lines – qualities that could be a perfect match for Vincent Kompany’s flexible attacking play
Transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri recently reported that Bayern consider the Atalanta star to be one of their top priorities for the summer
According to the report, De Ketelaere has even shown himself open to a move to Munich, with the personal terms of his contract not being a problem
In contrast to Gordon, a transfer for the Belgian appears much more realistic. While Newcastle are said to be insisting on an enormously high transfer fee, De Ketelaere’s market value is currently around 35 million euros according to Transfermarkt
However, Bayern and Atalanta Bergamo have yet to agree on a transfer fee and new talks between the clubs are set to take place in the coming weeks, according to earlier reports
The Belgian is already familiar with FC Bayern from the Champions League, where he and Atalanta met in the round of 16 this season
It now seems clear that Bayern are intensively examining various options in attack – and Charles De Ketelaere is apparently playing an increasingly important role.
