Referee Darío Herrera has lodged a scathing report against Estudiantes president Juan Sebastián Verón and other club figures after Rosario Central’s 3-1 win, alleging serious aggression on the pitch at full-time.

According to SuperDepor.com, the Supercopa Internacional final featured a controversial penalty for the Canalla that enabled the comeback. Herrera also declined to show a second yellow to midfielder Elías Verón, and two potential Estudiantes penalties were not awarded.

With tensions high after a year of rising rivalry, Verón, vice-president Pascual Caiella and technical secretary Marcos Angeleri entered the pitch to confront the referee.

In his report, Herrera says Verón insulted the officiating team, alleged they were acting on instructions from AFA officials, and is said to have stated that they should all be killed.

Herrera also reports that Caiella repeated the insults, labelled them AFA loyalists and allegedly threatened to kill them. Caiella and Angeleri are further accused of calling the officials corrupt.

The Estudiantes trio now face the prospect of heavy sanctions. It comes months after a six-month ban for Verón late last year was overturned by the TAS in May.
