Ibrahim Osman has impressed in a short timeframe at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park
Birmingham City have very little but pride to play for at this point in the Championship season, even though the club are now on course to record a best league finish in 10 years under Chris Davies.
Despite that being said, that hasn't stopped pressure from coming the way of the Blues boss in recent weeks, with many supporters and outsiders expecting much more when it comes to what would be achieved at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park in the Championship.
However, after a dire run of form prior to the campaign's final international break ahead of the World Cup which effectively put pay to any aspirations of reaching the play-offs, there have been some signs of encouragement, with Birmingham taking seven points from their last 12 available, being unbeaten in their last three matches in the process.
Indeed, a narrow and somewhat controversial 2-1 defeat at Ipswich Town on Easter Monday has been followed up by two victories and a draw against Wrexham, Hull City and most recently, Preston North End, with the Lilywhites defeated 2-1 in B9 on Wednesday night courtesy of early strikes from Jay Stansfield and Ibrahim Osman.
It was three points that have moved Blues back into the top half for the meantime, with attention very much turning to a critical off-season in this part of the West Midlands, and many will certainly be intrigued to see what transfer business is conducted at St. Andrew's when taking recent windows into account.
And, whilst it also remains to be seen if Davies will be in the dugout, with Football League World understanding

The aforementioned Osman was one of six new arrivals in B9 in a busy winter transfer window, joining on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion until the end of the season.
Despite being highly-rated, the 21-year-old is yet to feature competitively for the Seagulls after a £16m switch from FC Nordsjaelland in February 2024, with his current loan spell following on from temporary stints at Feyenoord and AJ Auxerre.
Aligning with Birmingham's form since then, the Ghanaian's form has been rather hit-and-miss, reflected by a total of two goals and as many assists in 16 games, with two of those contributions coming against Preston before he was substituted on 37 minutes through a head injury.
Whilst Davies now plays a waiting game to see if the winger can possibly feature against Bristol City and Portsmouth in the season's final week, he admits that a reunion with Osman for next season has already been considered.
“Absolutely. We work closely with Brighton and have good communication, feeding back how they’re doing," said the Blues boss when asked about those possibilities.
“We’ve had James (Beadle) who’s had a good experience here. We’ve had (Eiran) Cashin, he didn’t play too much but he certainly enjoyed the experience here.
“The best place for him is somewhere he’s loved and is going to play, get minutes and keep growing. I’d love him to come back but there’s a lot of moving parts there so we’ll see," he added.
As previously mentioned, Osman was acquired by the Seagulls for an eight-figure sum two years ago, whilst his first loan of this season with Auxerre reportedly included an option for the Ligue 1 side to trigger a £13m option-to-buy.

Davies has shared rave reviews of Osman in recent times, meaning this transfer stance on his part isn't particularly unsurprising, especially with there being the opportunity that the youngster could fulfil his own potential whilst the club look to grow towards being an established Premier League side in the coming years.
However, a reunion could also hinge on whether Knighthead are to make a change in the dugout, with recent form and performances proving that Blues have a squad capable of challenging for the play-offs if they were to carry this momentum into 2026/27, when two more spots in the post-season lottery become available.
It also remains to be seen which route to a reunion would be taken in terms of another potential loan or a permanent transfer, given the amount of money Birmingham have parted with in the last four windows.
