Leeds United could field a refreshed XI at Nottingham Forest if a move for James Trafford is completed in time.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds are close to agreeing a £40m plus add-ons deal with Manchester City for the 23-year-old, a fee that would be a club record and make him the fourth-most expensive goalkeeper ever. He would become the third summer addition after Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic, addressing three key gaps.

If signed, Trafford would be first choice and could prove the most important recruit of the window.

Joe Rodon offers continuity through the spine, having been virtually ever-present across Farke’s three years, and his recovery pace remains vital.

Jaka Bijol has settled into a back three and improved week by week, and his experience moving from Serie A to the Premier League can help the latest defensive addition bed in.

Tarik Muharemovic is expected to replace Pascal Struijk, with hope he can upgrade the role, Premier League adaptation pending. Supporters will be excited to see the Bosnian make his debut.

At right wing-back, Jayden Bogle handled the step up last season and thrived, and he should dovetail with a new right winger in due course. The campaign begins at Nottingham Forest on August 22, with less than four weeks for Farke to refine his options.
