Abdul Fatawu is attracting transfer interest following Leicester City's relegation to League One
West Ham’s transfer business is up and running following an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the sale of Mateus Fernandes.
The Hammers’ relegation to the Championship likely means that sales will take priority over incomings, at least initially.
The midfielder is set to move to their London rivals after an stunning £85 million deal was agreed between the two clubs earlier on Monday.
Fernandes could be just the start of an exodus of first team stars, with the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Jarrod Bowen also linked with departures.
However, the East London will also be targeting incomings, with it being reported this week that an approach has been made for Abdul Fatawu.
Nuno Espírito Santo will want to bolster his first team squad, with his sights set on guiding West Ham to promotion next season.

It has been reported by Football Insider that Fatawu is open to a move to West Ham despite their relegation from the Premier League.
The forward is keen to play in the top flight again, having made 11 appearances for Leicester City at that level in 2024/25.
It’s believed that the Hammers face stiff competition from clubs across Europe in the race for his signature.
However, he hasn’t been put off a move to the London Stadium with their relegation, as long as he sees a pathway to the Premier League in the immediate future.
The 22-year-old is believed to be available for around £20 million, with Leicester looking to cash in on the forward in order to raise funds and alleviate their financial issues.
But it remains unclear which clubs in Europe are interested in a deal for the forward, with West Ham currently the front-runners to win his signature.
The Championship side have already made an approach to Leicester for Fatawu, but it remains to be seen whether this will be accepted.
The Ghana international is currently competing at the World Cup in North America, with the nation reaching the round of 32, where they will face Colombia on 4 July.
It’s possible any decision on his future could be determined once his time on international duty is concluded.
Fatawu contributed nine goals and seven assists in the second tier last season, but it wasn’t enough to keep Leicester in the division, as they finished 23rd in the table and suffered relegation as a result.

If West Ham can get a deal done for Fatawu around the £20 million mark, then it would help soften the blow of losing someone like Bowen, if he is sold.
The Ghana international isn’t quite at Bowen’s level right now, but he is still 22 and has room to improve.
And he’s already shown he can be productive in the Championship, having contributed a total of 15 goals and 20 assists from 84 appearances in the second tier in his career.
Given West Ham’s hopes of earning promotion, it would also be a great step up for Fatawu, with a likely pathway to Premier League football in the near future.
