How much Corinthians paid in fines after last Paulista final

After winning the last Campeonato Paulista in 2025 against Palmeiras in Itaquera, Corinthians was penalized by the Supreme Court of Sports Justice (STJD) for using flares and throwing fireworks during the added time of the Derby against their biggest rival. Initially, the Corinthians fans were banned from attending the Arena for the first two games of the 2026 Paulistão, which was later changed to a fine and, consequently, a portion of the ticket sales from the games against Ponte Preta and São Paulo was paid to the court.

Last Sunday, after the draw in the Majestoso at home, Corinthians completed the second match of the penalty defined by the STJD and transferred R$ 1,237,638.36 to the court. At the beginning of January, the Alvinegro managed to reverse this warning at the STJD. As a result, it was decided that in the match against Ponte Preta, 30% of the gross revenue from the duel would be allocated to the court. That is, of the R$ 2,482,182.90 earned, R$ 744,654.87 were sent to the agency as a fine. Considering operational expenses (R$ 974,590.91), Corinthians kept R$ 762,937.12 of the total mentioned.

The numbers were disclosed by Meu Timão, which extracted the data from the financial breakdown of the match. Against São Paulo, in turn, 15% of the gross revenue had to be allocated to the STJD. Thus, of the R$ 3,286,566.60, R$ 492,983.49 were deducted as a fine. Additionally, taking into account the operational expenses of the Majestoso (R$ 1,176,365.39), the Alvinegro earned R$ 1,617,208.72.

Now, the next Corinthians home match at the Neo Química Arena for the Paulistão will only be on the upcoming February 5th (Thursday), at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), against Capivariano, for the sixth round of the state championship's first phase. Before that, in the Campeonato Paulista, the Alvinegro will face Santos and Velo Clube away, as well as the Brasileirão debut against Bahia, which will be at Vila Belmiro, and the Supercopa do Brasil final in Brasília against Flamengo.
