A close contest was expected in Ireland and Hungary's opening match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
However, few would have anticipated such an electric start from the visitors, who put the Boys in Green to the sword in the opening minutes.
With just 15 minutes on the board, Hungary were two goals up through Barnabas Varaga's well-taken opener and Roland Sallai's header from an expert Dominik Szoboszlai corner.
