Ian Poveda struck for Atletico Nacional in a 3-2 win over Inter Bogota, with James Rodriguez supplying a 99th-minute assist for the winner. The former Leeds United winger found the equaliser against his old club.

According to Leedsunited.news, Poveda left Elland Road in 2024 for Sunderland after an injury-hit four-year spell. He then moved to Colombia earlier this year.

Signed from Man City in January 2020 under Marcelo Bielsa, Poveda arrived amid hype from City’s academy. He made 30 appearances for Leeds, with loans at Blackburn, Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday.

After six outings for Sunderland, he switched to Inter Bogota, scoring three goals and adding an assist in nine during the second half of the season. Atletico Nacional secured him in June.

He has five appearances for Atletico so far and this was his second goal in five. Rodriguez began on the bench, then set up the decisive strike to help secure the win.
