Igor Tudor is under fire from players, supporters and pundits, and could be removed if Tottenham lose again at Liverpool on Sunday at 17:30.

On Friday night, The Athletic reported Spurs are actively seeking a successor to Igor Tudor, 47, appointed on 14 February until season’s end, though he remains in charge for the trip.

Spurs have lost six in a row in all competitions, a club record in 144 years, and are flirting with relegation. Chief executive Vinai Venkatesham appears unconvinced of a miracle at the reigning champions. They will be without Micky Van de Ven, suspended, Yves Bissouma, injured, plus Joao Palhinha and Cristian Romero, concussion protocol.

Tudor has lost his first four games, conceding 14 and scoring five. After the 2-5 defeat at Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust called for urgent action to revive the club, amid growing unrest in the dressing room.

Players have criticised his goalkeeping calls, dropping Guglielmo Vicario for Antonin Kinsky against Atletico, then replacing Kinsky after 16 minutes following two major errors.

He is also under fire for brusque communication and for picking players out of position, including Joao Palhinha, Archie Gray and Conor Gallagher. Pundits Paul Merson and Ian Wright have urged Tottenham to appoint a new manager.

Tudor urged a collective response on Friday, telling his squad to stop feeling like victims and believe they can change things. The match will show whether that message lands, and whether he keeps even a slim chance of staying.
