With the first Clasico of the season less than a month away, there is much excitement in the Barcelona community surrounding the new-look jersey.

As part of the Spotify partnership, Barcelona’s jerseys have been a catwalk for various music artists, who usually promote their new club on the shirt whenever the team plays against Real Madrid.

In the past, artists such as Travis Scott, Coldplay, Drake and the Rolling Stones, among others, have featured on Barcelona’s jerseys.

This time around, as per reports, Ed Sheeran is going to feature on Barcelona’s jersey to promote his new club, Play.

In the last few hours, a viral image of Ed Sheeran wearing a special kit featuring Barcelona has gone viral, reports SPORT.

The leaked picture shows the singer in a black Nike training top with a striking pink emblem. The word “Play,” stretches across the chest in bright neon pink, with the familiar Barcelona crest outlined beside it.

Just beside the lettering sits a small triangular play-button icon. And it appears this is the logo that may feature as Barcelona take on Real Madrid next month.

‘Play’ refers to the latest album released by Ed Sheeran – his eighth – earlier this month.

So far, the Catalans have a record of three wins and three defeats wearing these special musical kits. Whether or not the tide will fully tilt in favour of Barça this time around remains to be seen.

Barcelona are slated to take on Real Madrid on October 26, a game in which the club will hope for the return of injured goalkeeper Joan Garcia.

In the meantime, though, Barcelona will be fully focused on this evening’s encounter against Real Sociedad, as securing three points could help Hansi Flick’s men clinch the top spot, overtaking Real Madrid.
