Eder Militao had emerged as one of Real Madrid’s most solid performers in the early parts of the new season under former manager Xabi Alonso.
However, a muscle injury in early December sidelined the Brazilian international, which has come as a major blow for Los Blancos.
An initial timeline of four months was talked about for Militao, but not long after, it was suggested that he could be back much earlier than anticipated.
However, according to the latest update from Melchor Ruiz of COPE, Militao still has a long way to go on his road to recovery before he can think of returning to action.
It does not come as a surprise, considering that the 27-year-old centre-back has had recurring fitness problems over the past couple of years.

It also makes sense for Real Madrid to not take any risks and rush their key defender back, leaving him exposed to future relapses.
So, as things stand, there is still some way to go for Militao to think of making a comeback, with no specific return date set for his return so far.
It has also emerged that Raul Asencio is playing through pain from a fracture in his foot, while David Alaba does not seem to be a major part of the plans.
It has left Real Madrid’s defensive line in a vulnerable situation, although there is some good news as Antonio Rudiger is expected to return in the next couple of weeks, which will come as a major relief.
