Exclusive access on day two at Wolves’ Portugal camp offered a first look at Cesar Peixoto’s methods, with an intense morning session and early impressions of Kieran Trippier and Rafiki Said.
As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, after an 11.20pm Monday finish on a 10-year Fosun piece, it was an early start at the base to watch the squad up close.
Cloud cover made the heat manageable, although the forecast hints at tougher conditions later in the week.
Training was structured and demanding, with Peixoto pushing fitness and physicality that Wolves will need across a long Championship campaign.
Mateus Mane looked sharper and stronger, and there was a first open glimpse of Trippier and Rafiki Said. More individual analysis will follow this week.
A post-session video was recorded on the pitches, then a quick return to the flat to upload and publish the Ki-Jana Hoever piece.
Hoever is expected to leave this summer and, like Tolu Arokodare, has not travelled. With three right-backs in camp, Trippier, Pedro Lima and Jackson Tchatchoua, a parting appears logical.
Only 33 appearances in six years underline a move that has not worked. The afternoon meant analysis and interview prep, then France v Spain, with England facing Argentina on Wednesday before work resumes.
