USMNT legend Brad Friedel believes AC Milan star Christian Pulisic is one of the best players in the Serie A after yet another decisive goal in Milan derby against Inter.

Brad Friedel praised the former Chelsea player after he scored the only goal of the game in the Milan derby a couple of weeks ago.

Christian Pulisic has established himself as an important player for AC Milan since joining the club in the summer of 2023.

To date, Pulisic has featured 111 times across all competitions scoring 39 times in the process. Three of these have come in the Milan derby against Inter.

The duo were teammates for one season in the 2011/2012 season at Spurs.

At the end of that season Modric completed a transfer to Real Madrid.

When asked by The Italian Football Podcast about Modric’s longevity, Friedel stated he wasn’t surprised that Modric continues to play at such a high level despite his age.

“He’s got to be in the top five. He’s got to be in the conversation” Friedel told The Italian Football Podcast in an interview at an online event hosted by ToonieBet.

“Since his move from Chelsea it’s really good to see, from an American standpoint, just how well he has done.

“I can full understand why some would say he is the best there.”

“The longevity doesn’t surprise me. There’s nothing to his body, no body fat. He always takes care of himself” Friedel continued.

“But mentally he’s played since he left Tottenham in so many high pressure situations for club and country. It’s remarkable he still wants to do it.

“I played until I was 44. You’ve got to still want to do it.

“Off the field he is very mellow, very calm character, very nice human being, family man. Not one person could say anything negative about him.

“On the field he just is one of those players that sees things two to three steps ahead of others. That’s not coachable.

“Certain players in their careers just understand top level football. He was and is one of this players.

“Technically incredible touch, great vision and passer of the ball, great range of passing. He can find space anytime he wants to find space but if he doesn’t find space he doesn’t panic.

“In possession of the ball, 99 times out of 100 he finds the solution to get his team out of trouble.

In conclusion, Friedel noted that Modric is a “Top human being and top midfielder.”
