Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez will be a doubt to face Juventus next weekend due to his international break schedule.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

The Nerazzurri striker did not start for Argentina in their 3-0 win over Venezuela. However, he did come off the bench and score in the second half of that match.

Meanwhile, the Albiceleste’s second and final World Cup qualifier of the break is against Ecuador on Tuesday evening local time, or early Wednesday morning in European time.

Therefore, Martinez will only be travelling back to Italy at the end of this week.

Lautaro Martinez will only have a day to get back up the speed for Inter’s first match back from the break.

And it will be a very big one. The Nerazzurri travel to Turin for the Derby d’Italia against Juventus next Saturday.

Naturally, Martinez will do everything he can to be available and at his best for that match.

However, as the Corriere dello Sport note, some fatigue and jet lag will be inevitable for the Inter captain.

Therefore, the newspaper suggest, even if Martinez does likely start the match, he will likely only last around an hour.
