Walter Zenga has named three potential candidates to replace the outgoing Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

During his recent interview with Gianluca Di Marzio, Zenga discussed the upcoming change in goal, as reported by FCInterNews.

Yann Sommer looks set to leave San Siro after three years, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Indeed, the runaway Serie A leaders have refused to offer the 37-year-old a new deal. Therefore, the former Bayern Munich star will become a free agent in June.

On the other hand, Beppe Marotta has already identified numerous targets to replace the Swiss goalkeeper.

Tottenham Hotspur wantaway stopper Guglielmo Vicario has emerged as Inter’s highest priority for the summer transfer window.

However, the Nerazzurri are keeping close tabs on several other options, including Andriy Lunin, Marco Carnesecchi, Noah Atubolu, and Elia Caprile.

Vicario is Inter’s top target, with the 29-year-old already agreeing personal terms with the Italian powerhouse.

Still, Spurs’ €30 million asking price could throw a spanner in the works.

Despite staring down the barrel of a shock Premier League relegation, the North London giants won’t budge on their demands.

“I would stick with an Italian goalkeeper because I would like there to be a solid Italian core,” Zenga said. “We keep saying that there are no players for the national team in clubs…

“I mentioned Guglielmo Vicario, Elia Caprile, and Marco Carnesecchi, even though the latter is already at a big club [Atalanta].

“Vicario too, but Tottenham Hotspur are struggling to avoid relegation this season.”

In addition to Vicario, Caprile and Carnesecchi have long been on Inter’s radar.

While the Cagliari star could be available for a reasonable price, it’s hard to expect Atalanta to sell their stalwart unless they receive a mind-blowing offer.
