Reports in Italy claim that Inter will prioritise the signing of Italy international Marco Palestra this summer and that the Nerazzurri are prepared to invest heavily on the purchase of the 21-year-old.
Palestra was one of the breakthrough stars of the 2025-26 Serie A season, impressing while on loan with Cagliari and earning his first appearances with the Italy national team as a result.
Scudetto and Coppa Italia winners Inter are said to be keen on luring him away from Atalanta this summer, but La Dea tend to be firm in selling negotiations and are seeking a fee in the region of €40m-€50m for Palestra this summer according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Despite their double success this season, €50m is still a significant investment for Inter: The club has only spent above the €50m mark on one occasion previously, when signing Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United in 2019.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inter’s management are prepared to submit what they describe as a ‘maxi offer’ for Palestra this summer. That is because there is a possibility that Denzel Dumfries is sold via his €25m release clause, and the club’s alternative option at right wing-back, Luis Henrique, could be allowed to leave this summer as well.
Signing Palestra may around the same as the signings of both Henrique and Andy Diouf combined, but La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that this is what Cristian Chivu wants and that at the moment, the Italy international is the club’s priority target.
