‘Interesting Left Foot’ – Journalist Tells Portsmouth What To Expect From Target | OneFootball

Portsmouth have been told what to expect from Iyad Mohamed, with the midfielder set to join from Portuguese side Casa Pia.

Pompey have already welcomed Rocco Shein and Odin Bailey to Fratton Park this summer, adding valuable depth to their engine room.

John Mousinho’s side are now poised to add Mohamed to the mix, bringing another dimension to their midfield options.

Portsmouth have reached an agreement with Casa Pia, with an official announcement potentially arriving soon to unveil Mohamed at Fratton Park.

The 25-year-old made 35 appearances for the Portuguese outfit during his spell there and is now set to embark on a new chapter in the Championship.

French journalist Nordine Al Said has given an insight into what Portsmouth can expect and hailed Mohamed’s technical qualities, particularly his ability to use his left foot to find passing angles and break through defensive lines.

He also pointed to his awareness without the ball, noting his capacity to close off opponents’ passing lanes.

Nordine Al Said wrote on X: “Interesting left foot, especially for finding passing angles and breaking lines.

“Also capable of cutting off opponents’ passing trajectories.”

The financial details of Mohamed’s arrival remain unclear, while his situation at Casa Pia could make the deal an appealing piece of business for Pompey, given he has entered the final year of his stay in Portugal.

Once Mohamed’s arrival is formalised, whether Portsmouth will make further additions at Fratton Park remains to be seen, although it has already been made clear that QPR star Rayan Kolli is not among their targets.

Meanwhile, striker Harvey Blair has attracted interest from Polish side Widzew Lodz over a potential switch, although that has yet to develop into anything concrete.

Mousinho’s side are next in action against Bristol City on Saturday, with Pompey looking to carry the momentum from their weekend victory over Lincoln City.
