Istanbul will stage the 2027 Spanish Super Cup after the RFEF’s delegated commission approved the move this morning. The Final Four tournament is scheduled for two to seven February in Türkiye.
The federation said in a statement that the agreement safeguards the financial benefits generated by the competition, with proceeds directed to almost 1,000 clubs across the men’s and women’s game.
The semi-finals set the Copa del Rey holders against the La Liga runners-up, Real Sociedad v Real Madrid. The other tie pits the league champions against the cup runners-up, Barcelona v Atlético.
Matches will be played at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, which previously hosted the Champions League finals in 2005 and 2023. The competition is broadcast in more than 150 countries, and Barcelona won the 2026 edition.
Saudi Arabia had hosted the Supercopa since 2020 but was ruled out this season because of a clash with the Asian Cup. The tournament is due to return there in 2028.
A specialist company will handle commercial rights and promotional delivery in Istanbul, working with the Spanish and Turkish football federations. The plan is to deliver an international-level experience for clubs, players, fans, partners and media.
