Curtis Jones has stressed he and his Liverpool teammates are desperate to get back to winning ways against Inter Milan in the Champions League this evening.

The Premier League champions travel to the San Siro off the back of successive draws against Sunderland and Leeds United.

The Reds currently find themselves 13th in the league phase of Europe’s premier competition and have won three and lost two of their opening five clashes.

Jones, who played the full game as Liverpool drew 3-3 at Elland Road on Saturday, insists ‘it would be mad’ to approach tonight’s game against Inter thinking about anything other than winning.

“Every game we approach now we want to win,” the Scouser told Amazon Prime (via @DaveOCKOP on X).

“That’s what we are trying to do today.

“I’m not thinking about a loss. I’m just thinking of going out there, playing well and win. I think it would be mad to come into a game like this thinking about a loss.

“If I look left and right around me, there are lads that are world class. That can score goals, can assist, that can help the team. That’s all you want to see.”

Mo Salah has not travelled to Italy following the comments he made after the game late on Saturday night.

It’s important that the Liverpool players who are representing the club this evening have full focus on matters on the pitch as we seek to return to winning ways.

Alisson Becker has admitted the situation is ‘not an easy’ one in regards to the Egyptian King but there’s more than enough quality in the starting XI at San Siro to pick up all three points for the visitors.

Slot’s men defeated AC Milan at the same venue last year and the Dutchman will be hoping for further success in northern Italy.

Reds supporters will be excited by the prospect of seeing both Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike in the starting XI – let’s hope they can impress!
