Ivan Toney questioned the integrity of Saudi Pro League refereeing, suggesting a bias towards Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, after Al-Ahli were held 1-1 by Al-Fayha, a result that hurt their title push.

Toney scored his 27th of the season on Wednesday, but Al-Ahli stayed third, four points behind Al-Nassr, who lead and have a game in hand. Team-mate Galeno later alleged the league wanted to gift one individual the trophy, per the Daily Mail.

The striker insisted two penalties were “clear as day” yet not awarded, and claimed an official told players to focus on the AFC Champions League instead of domestic matters.

Asked who stood to benefit, he laughed and said: "We know who, who are we chasing?" He suggested some referees had their minds elsewhere during the crunch stage of the title race.

Toney later posted match clips on social media, calling it crazy that such moments could be missed or ignored in crucial spells, and implying outside influence on key decisions.

Al-Ahli issued a formal complaint, expressing deep dissatisfaction with officiating, requesting release of VAR audio and warning that the decisions affected the game’s flow, the result and the club’s position in the race.
