Jacob Widdel Zetterstrom has signalled a brief pause before considering his future after fresh Leeds United links, following Sweden’s World Cup elimination by France last night. The goalkeeper’s stance comes as Leeds continue to seek clarity in their No. 1 position.
Leeds have been linked with several goalkeepers in Europe, with Parma’s Zion Suzuki viewed as a fashionable option and Lukas Hornicek and James Trafford also mentioned.
Zetterstrom, 27, has spent the past couple of seasons with Derby County after emerging at Djurgardens. He recovered from illness in the second half of last season and impressed at the World Cup against France.
"I don't usually focus on rumors too much. I've been in this bubble now and been fully focused on the national team and now I feel like I should take a few days to relax." He told Swedish outlet fotbolltransfers.
Leeds remain in talks over a new deal for Karl Darlow, who ended last season as No. 1, while Lucas Perri is still at the club after joining last summer. Illan Meslier has departed and is being linked with Arsenal as back-up to David Raya.
