Jair of Nottingham Forest, João Victor Souza of Tottenham and Deivid Washington of Chelsea reunited with former Santos team-mates for a small-sided game in Santos on Monday.
According to Diario Do Peixe, right-back JP Chermont, on loan at Coritiba, also took part alongside goalkeeper Rodrigo Falcão, midfielder Gustavo Henrique, attacking midfielder Gabriel Bontempo and forward Mateus Xavier.
The trio sold to English clubs, together with Chermont and other academy graduates, used their holidays to catch up. They were part of a standout youth group and now feature in the professional ranks, with the exception of Mateus Xavier, who has appeared for the Under-20s.
Also present were forward Pedro Amarante, now at Desportivo Brasil, and their friend and hairdresser Nicolas Lima. Academy staff Daniel Padilha, the performance coordinator, and Matheus Alvarez, the Under-20 performance analyst, attended, as did physiotherapist Guilherme Soares, who was at the club during their academy years.
Santos have benefited financially from selling three of the group to English football, while Gustavinho, Bontempo and Mateus Xavier continue to stand out for the club. The close-knit group formed their bond in the Under-15s, with Jair, Deivid, Bontempo, Gustavinho and Falcão born in 2005, Souza and Chermont in 2006, and Mateus Xavier in 2007.
