James Morrison says discussions over his West Brom future can wait until the season is finished, after his side clinched Championship safety with a 0-0 home draw against promotion-chasing Ipswich.
The result followed a two-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules less than 24 hours earlier. ExpressAndStar.com reports that the head coach, a club great who will reach 20 years at the Baggies next year, wants to see out the campaign before any talks.
He stressed his focus is simply on getting to the end of the season, accepting there will be conversations, at which point he will give his view and the club will share theirs.
A raucous Hawthorns backed Albion throughout, with anger at the EFL sanction audible. Morrison felt the punishment galvanised supporters and players, and said his in-form squad needed little by way of a team talk.
Albion were on top for more than an hour against the high-flying Tractor Boys. Morrison framed the contest as a measure of progress, arguing his side showed they can compete and are in good form, while praising relentless recovery runs out of possession.
