West Ham will face off against Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the London Stadium this Saturday on September 20, 2025. The Hammers lost 3-0 in the previous game against Tottenham. They are currently 18th in the points table with just three points in four matches.
West Ham will miss the services of Tomas Soucek due to suspension after receiving a red card in the previous game against Tottenham. Luis Guilherme will miss the game due to a clavicle fracture. Callum Wilson and Nicolas Füllkrug are back in training and pushing for a place in the starting lineup.
The Hammers will definitely play with a back four in this game. Hermansen will likely get the nod in goal. Walker-Peters and Diouf will likely start as the right and left-backs, respectively. Graham Potter will likely start Mavropanos and Kilman as the centre-back pairing for this game. They will have to stop the attack from Palace and also initiate attacks from the back. The backline has to be smart against a threatening attack from Crystal Palace.
In the absence of Soucek, Potter will likely start Magassa in the pivot role alongside Ward-Prowse. Magasa played for the first time for West Ham in the previous game against Spurs as a substitute. He will have a role in disrupting the rhythm of Palace in the midfield, and potentially play the role of the defensive midfielder.
Ward-Prowse will have a more attacking role. He will be aggressive with his passing, set-piece delivery, and contribute to both attack and defence. Mateus Fernandes will get the start as the central attacking midfielder. He will have to link up with the forwards and create chances.

Potter will probably play Lucas Paqueta as the main striker yet again. Jarrod Bowen will support him on the right wing and will be looking to get into the score sheet again. On the other hand, Summerville will inject pace and take on defenders on the left wing. He will look to cut inside and create chances.
While Wilson and Füllkrug are available options, Graham Potter may stick with this attacking trio to maintain consistency and build chemistry within the forward line.
