Jesse Lingard is close to registration with Corinthians after his work visa was published in the Official Gazette on Tuesday 24 March, removing the final bureaucratic hurdle with the CBF.
According to Meu Timao, the club expect his name to appear on the CBF’s daily registration list between Thursday and Friday this week, which would leave him eligible to make his debut once cleared.
Corinthians’ next fixture is on 1 April, away to Fluminense at the Maracanã at 21:30 in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, following the FIFA international break.
Lingard was unveiled on 6 March on a deal to the end of the 2026 season, with an automatic extension tied to targets. The team have played four times since without him while paperwork was completed, and he has followed a tailored fitness programme.
He has not played since 10 December 2025, when he was with FC Seoul in South Korea.
A Manchester United academy graduate, he made 235 appearances, scored 35 and assisted 21, winning four trophies.
He joined Nottingham Forest in mid 2022, then signed for FC Seoul in February 2024. Across two seasons in South Korea he played 66 games, scored 19 and provided 10 assists.
For England he has 32 call-ups and featured at the 2018 World Cup, but has not been selected since 2021.
