Joan Laporta confirms Barcelona will present second summer signing tomorrow | OneFootball

Barcelona wrapped up a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Karim Adeyemi more than a week ago, and the German attacker has arrived in the city despite not being officially announced yet.

It was revealed that the delay in the announcement was due to club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco being away in the United States for the latter stages of the World Cup.

Now, the club president has effectively confirmed that Karim Adeyemi’s move to Barcelona is entering its final stage and that he will be presented tomorrow.

As quoted by SPORT, Laporta made the comment after returning to Barcelona from the United States. He said:

“We will present him tomorrow.”

The winger already underwent his medical at the end of last week.

With the president now back, the final formalities can be completed before Adeyemi joins Hansi Flick’s pre-season preparations.

Adeyemi move reaches final stage

For Barça supporters, Laporta’s statement removes much of the remaining uncertainty around the operation, if any.

The transfer had already appeared close, but there is always a difference between an advanced deal and a public announcement from the club president.

Adeyemi should now be able to focus fully on adapting to Flick’s demands and integrating into a new attacking structure.

The German brings speed, direct running and the ability to attack space, qualities that can give Barça a different weapon on the wing and even through the middle.

His arrival will also increase competition across the forward line, which should help Flick rotate more effectively during a demanding season.

Barcelona still have a few important sales to sort out, but in terms of signings, things are progressing well for the Catalan club this summer.

With the World Cup stars set to receive a short holiday, the German has the chance to impress Flick and stake a claim for a starting berth in the early games of the season.

It remains to be seen how Adeyemi gets on in Flick’s tactical setup once he is presented and whether he can make an instant impression.
