João Félix 'to prioritise' Barcelona return amid Benfica links | OneFootball

João Félix, linked with Benfica, wants to leave Al Nassr and is understood to be preparing a return to European football, with Barcelona his preferred destination.

In an interview with As, the 26-year-old said a move could come at the end of this season or the next.

Sport reports that Jorge Mendes has already informed Barcelona of the player's wish to pull on the blaugrana shirt again.

Félix spent 2023/24 on loan at Barcelona from Atlético de Madrid, playing 44 games, scoring 10 goals and supplying six assists.

Hansi Flick's attack is currently well stocked and the Portuguese is not an immediate priority, but a deal could appeal if no transfer fee is involved.

To help any move, he is willing to accept a very significant wage reduction. The plan is to make a return financially viable and give Flick a different attacking profile, though any operation would depend on Barcelona choosing to proceed.
