José Mourinho on Dahl: not Sweden's Roberto Carlos, selection up to Potter | OneFootball

Samuel Dahl is on Sweden's provisional list for the World Cup in North America. According to Glorioso 1904, José Mourinho praised the Benfica left-back's development while deflecting questions about a call-up.

Benfica drew 2-2 with Braga, with Rafa Silva and Vangelis Pavlidis scoring for the hosts, the latter from the spot. Pau Victor and Gorby netted for the visitors. The result leaves Benfica third on 77 points.

Asked by a Swedish journalist at a press conference, Mourinho said it was not for him to decide and underlined that only national coach Graham Potter will pick the squad.

He added that Dahl is no Swedish Roberto Carlos, yet a good player and a good man, the kind coaches respect.

This season Dahl has made 52 appearances for Benfica, 32 in the Liga Portugal Betclic, 13 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. Across 4,507 minutes he has two goals and two assists, and is valued at 12 million euros.
