Julio Enciso missed a stoppage-time penalty after a row with Martial Godo as Strasbourg lost 0-1 to Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League semi-final second leg at La Meinau, 0-1 on aggregate.

According to L'Équipe, tensions then flared between ultras and players after the final whistle.

The penalty was awarded at the start of added time. With Joaquin Panichelli injured, Enciso had been designated to take it and took hold of the ball. Godo also wanted the responsibility, and Enciso pushed him aside with his arm.

Enciso took the kick, but goalkeeper Augusto Batalla saved. The opportunity was gone.

The penalty flashpoint and miss capped a bleak night for the Alsace club.
