Julio Enciso has returned to the Premier League with Ipswich Town, with Brighton set to receive a sell-on fee.
According to TheArgus.co.uk, the Paraguay forward has signed a five-year contract at Portman Road. The deal could rise to £26 million, and he reunites with new head coach Gary O’Neil, his boss at Strasbourg last season.
Enciso previously impressed on loan at Ipswich from Brighton two seasons ago. His move to Strasbourg, within the BlueCo network, had widely been viewed as a precursor to Chelsea, but he has instead joined Ipswich after their promotion.
He is very happy to be back after enjoying his earlier spell, and is excited to work with O’Neil again at what he regards as a great club. He also cannot wait to see the supporters.
Ipswich are paying Strasbourg more than £40 million in a double deal, where David Weir is technical director.
Ivory Coast youngster Abdoul Ouattara has also arrived, signing until 2031 and linking up again with O’Neil. The versatile 20-year-old can play in different positions and worked with him in France last season.
