Dani Carvajal was given his marching orders in Real Madrid’s win over Olympique de Marseille on matchday one of the UEFA Champions League and this forced the team to play close to 18 minutes with ten men.
Kylian Mbappe’s penalty in the 81st minute eventually handed them the win against all odds and helped them take all three points being a man down.
Carvajal’s blunder of violent conduct on Geronimo Rulli, however, has earned him a sanction for two matches now as relayed by AS.
A two-game suspension for Carvajal means that he will not be able to participate in Real Madrid’s matchday 2 and 3 encounters against Kairat Almaty and Juventus.
Yet, Real Madrid can remain undisturbed by the development given that the player cannot participate in the game regardless.

The Spaniard picked up a soleus muscle injury in the team’s recent Madrid derby defeat and is thus ruled out for a month at least.
Even if not sanctioned, he would not have been able to play any part in the games.
Xabi Alonso will hope the player is back fit for the team’s clash against Liverpool in early November.
With even Trent Alexander-Arnold set to return only in that month, it will be a race between the two right-backs to see who can return earlier and secure their place in the lineup.
Carvajal made his comeback from a long-term knee injury against PSG in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Since then, he has made an appearance in all but one of Real Madrid’s games and looked to be returning to his best when he faced an unexpected setback last weekend.
All his focus now, needless to say, is on securing a safe and complete recovery.
