Juventus could make January approach for Olympique Marseille star | OneFootball

Juventus was keen to sign a new left back in the last transfer window after Atalanta showed late interest in Juan Cabal, with the Bianconeri more than willing to sell the defender.

Cabal is not part of Luciano Spalletti’s plans, as the manager has had enough of his poor performances last season and decided that he would not give the defender more opportunities in the team. Cabal has struggled for form since moving to Turin, and Juventus is looking to move him on while it can.

The club was therefore happy to help Atalanta complete a move for him during the summer, but the transfer ultimately did not happen. Juventus is expected to put Cabal on the market again during the January window as it looks to resolve his situation.

Juventus considers another left back

The men at the Allianz Stadium are expected to return to the market, and Tuttojuve says they will attempt to make a move for Emerson Palmieri when they get the opportunity.

Juventus wanted to sign Palmieri during the summer, but the club could not push through with the deal while Cabal remained in Turin. With the situation still unresolved, the Bianconeri are expected to make another attempt to sign the Olympique Marseille defender during the next transfer window.

Palmieri remains a Juventus target

The Italian club views Palmieri as one of the leading players it could add in that position, and his arrival would give the team another option at left back. Juventus is expected to assess its defensive needs before deciding how strongly to pursue the transfer.

Much will depend on what happens with Cabal, as the Bianconeri want to find a solution for the defender before making further changes to that area of the squad. A departure would create greater room for Juventus to pursue its preferred target.

For now, Palmieri remains an option for the club, while Cabal’s future is also expected to become clearer in January. Juventus will continue to monitor the situation as it prepares for another transfer window and looks to strengthen its squad.
