Corinthians beat Peñarol 2-0 on Wednesday to move clear at the top of Copa Libertadores Group E, watched by more than 43,000 supporters.
According to Meu Timao, the night also brought Kaio César's first appearance in the competition. The forward entered 15 minutes into the second half, replacing André, as Fernando Diniz looked to maintain attacking pressure.
He attempted a shot, completed one dribble and won five of eight duels, drawing four fouls while helping out defensively. The score, set before the interval, stayed unchanged.
César called it a unique moment and said playing in the Libertadores has been a childhood dream, all the more special with victory over a historic Peñarol. He hopes to keep helping the team and play more games in the competition.
He also welcomed the team's seven-match unbeaten run this season, matching Fernando Diniz's seven games in charge, with five wins and two draws. He noted they have not conceded in this spell, which he said is notable in a demanding calendar, and urged the group to maintain the rhythm and improve further.
Corinthians visit Mirassol this weekend in the Campeonato Brasileiro, kicking off at 20:30 in the 14th round, aiming for another win to move further from the relegation zone.
