After having signed Anthony Gordon only a few days after the end of the 2025-26 season, FC Barcelona are now close to completing another offensive signing for Hansi Flick, i.e., the German forward Karim Adeyemi.
In the last week or so, the Catalans have made significant progress on this front, and have reportedly already reached an agreement, with both the player and his club, Borussia Dortmund, for his signing.
The operation is already in its last stages, and yesterday, Adeyemi travelled to the Catalan capital to complete the remaining few steps of his transfer. The main objective of his visit was to undergo medical tests with the Blaugrana club, after which the operation can be formally finalized.
Now, as MARCA has reported, the German forward has already undertaken and passed his medical tests at Hospital de Barcelona. With this important step complete, his signing can be officially announced soon, expectedly on Thursday or Friday.
This medical test was a particularly important part of the transfer in this case. Adeyemi has suffered from several physical problems during his senior level career, suffering from at least one significant injury in each season he played with Dortmund. Thus, Barcelona wanted to take special precautions to ensure these physical problems do not continue when the German is playing for them.
Having already passed his medical, Karim Adeyemi will now be looking to join Hansi Flick in preseason training as soon as possible. He would not be able to do so on Thursday, but is likely to join the session scheduled for Friday. If he is unable to participate in the first session of the day, he will still train in the second session.
Thus, Barcelona are close to strengthening their attack even further ahead of a crucial season, in which they would be looking to win the UEFA Champions League.
