According to the Daily Mail, Everton and Manchester United have tabled contract offers for Karl Darlow, with Leeds also believed to have put terms forward as the goalkeeper weighs his next move. He left Elland Road earlier this week following the expiry of his deal.

Darlow ended last season as Leeds’ first-choice under Daniel Farke, taking over from £16million summer signing Lucas Perri in January. The 35-year-old made 22 Premier League starts and kept five clean sheets. Talks continued last month but no fresh terms have been agreed.

Interest has intensified as clubs seek experienced back-ups, with Everton and Manchester United eyeing cover for Jordan Pickford and Senne Lammens. Darlow is believed to have held talks with Tottenham Hotspur before they eventually signed Burnley free agent exit Martin Dubravka. Game time would not be guaranteed at those destinations.

Leeds may offer the clearest path to minutes. Dislodging Pickford or Lammens would be a far tougher task after strong 2025/26 campaigns. Darlow also offers homegrown status and proven top-flight experience at low cost.

Leeds’ goalkeeping situation remains uncertain. Perri’s debut campaign in West Yorkshire raised more questions than it answered, Illan Meslier has left and emerged as a potential back-up for Premier League champions Arsenal, and Alex Cairns is out of contract but has reportedly agreed the terms of a new deal. Parma’s Japan international Zion Suzuki is liked, though there is no active pursuit.
