Kevin Akpoguma banned for one match after Bayern red card | OneFootball

Kevin Akpoguma has been handed a one-match ban following his red card in Hoffenheim’s 5-1 defeat at Bayern Munich on Sunday, according to BuLi News.

In the 17th minute, Luis Diaz went down under pressure from the 30-year-old inside the penalty area.

Referee Tobias Stieler judged it a denial of a goalscoring opportunity and sent Akpoguma off as the last defender.

The DFB sports court later classified the offence as “unsportsmanlike conduct”, despite some claims it was not a red card decision.

As a result, the German-born Nigerian international will miss Saturday’s home game against SC Freiburg, kick-off 15:30 CET.
