La Liga giants Barcelona have this week bid farewell to a highly-regarded member of their backroom staff.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Paulo Araujo as the individual in question.
Araujo, for his part, had been on the books at the Camp Nou for the last three years.
Across this time, he acted as head of Barcelona’s scouting department, playing an integral role in the efforts of the Blaugrana to add to the club’s player departments at all levels.
As per Sport’s report:
‘He leaves, with elegance and discretion, through the front door, backed by an impeccable record of service.’
Araujo’s exit is not understood to have come owing to any sort of falling out or disagreement, with the scouting expert simply in search of a new challenge.
The Premier League is viewed as his most likely landing spot, with the Portuguese having already received offers from a number of English clubs ahead of next season.
