Kieran McKenna provides injury update on Ipswich trio | OneFootball

Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has issued an update on three key players ahead of his side’s meeting with Swansea City.

McKenna provided updates on Leif Davis, Jaden Philogene and Dan Neil ahead of the visit of Swansea to Portman Road.

Philogene has missed the last seven games with an MCL injury while Davis picked up a knock in the 5-3 defeat to Wrexham last weekend.

Asked if either of the two would be available for the game against Swansea, McKenna said :”Leif, yes. He trained with the team today for the first time.

“Jaden, no. We’re trying to rebuild him up now after the setback that he had, but he’s not back with the group yet.”

On Neil, McKenna said: “He’s started two games now (also the FA Cup defeat at Wrexham) and I think he’s handled the tactical adjustment fantastically well and shown his intelligence and experience as a footballer.

“Compared to most teams and most clubs, there’s a physical adjustment to the intensity that we want to play at and train at here – especially in the role that he played the other night.

“Again, he’s adapted to that really, really well. Is he ready to do that for 90 minutes twice a week? I think that would probably be maybe a little bit too soon, too much of a risk, but he recovers well and I’m sure he’ll have some role to play tomorrow.”
