Kingsley Olufade, 18, to join Strasbourg from Lille | OneFootball

Strasbourg, active in youth recruitment, are set to sign Lille forward Kingsley Olufade, 18, on his first professional deal, according to L'Équipe.

The striker is the son of Adékanmi Olufadé, who scored for Lille against Deportivo La Coruña in the 2001 Champions League.

There was a time when French clubs largely avoided taking prospects from rival academies.

Lille were among the first to break that informal pact several years ago.

The consequences have included the departure of some of their youngest talents, and Olufade’s situation reflects that shift.
