Klopp the favourite should Real Madrid sack Xabi Alonso | OneFootball

Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is the favourite to take over at the Bernabéu should Real Madrid sack another Reds favourite, Xabi Alonso.

The Spaniard has had a hard time of it since taking out at Real Madrid after having previously excelled at Bayer Leverkusen. Los Blancos have won just two games since defeating Valencia at the start of November, which were victories over Olympiacos and Athletic Club.

After back-to-back home defeats, pressure is mounting on Alonso with Klopp now the favourite should Madrid decide to make a managerial change.

The bookies' have put Klopp as the 2/1 favourite, implying that he will return to management for the chance to coach the Spanish giants.

Zinédine Zidane is the next favourite (3/1) to have another spell at the club should Klopp not be convinced. Premier League coaches Oliver Glasner (10/1) and Andoni Iraola (12/1) are also reportedly in the running.

There is still time for Alonso to turn things around though but his team will need to convince when they play away to Alavés in La Liga on Sunday.
