Knauff back with the squad

The latest news from the training ground, with three players making their way back while Ritsu Doan is currently out due to illness.

Adi Hütter was pleased to welcome Ansgar Knauff back after his thigh injury, as the squad prepares for the match against SC Freiburg this coming weekend. Two other players who were absent in Mainz, namely Oscar Højlund (hip) and Farès Chaibi (infection), were also back in training. Ritsu Doan, however, is struggling with an illness and was missing from the session, as was Jessic Ngankam.

There’ll be one session a day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with the match against Freiburg kicking off at Deutsche Bank Park on Saturday at 15:30 CEST.
