La Liga president Javier Tebas has downplayed concerns over Barcelona’s ability to register new signings ahead of the upcoming season.

Speaking at an event in London, Tebas addressed the media, where he was asked about Barcelona’s current transfer situation.

When asked about the Catalan club’s registration issues, Tebas remained calm. “That depends on Barcelona,” he said.

“I haven’t spoken to anyone at the club for a few days, and this is a matter for La Liga’s financial control team.

“They are the ones handling it. We have a website where registrations are published.

“If you don’t see any new names appearing, it’s because either the players haven’t been registered yet or all the necessary documents haven’t been submitted.”

One of the players in question is goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who recently joined Barcelona from Espanyol. His registration has yet to be confirmed, adding to the speculation about Barcelona’s financial situation.

However, Tebas insisted there is no reason to panic. “Honestly, I’m not too worried about Barcelona this season,” he added.

About the potential Miami fixture

Meanwhile, Tebas was also asked about La Liga’s plans to stage a La Liga match in Miami this year.

Speculation increased after Miguel Galan, president of the National Center for Coach Training (CENAFE), claimed on social media that Villarreal vs Barcelona had been chosen for the December fixture in the United States.

Tebas, however, dismissed Galan’s comments. “I don’t usually respond to Miguel Galán because he says a lot of things.

“We’ve been working on taking a match outside Spain for a long time, and yes, Miami is an option, but his guesses are like playing the lottery.”

When pressed again about whether a La Liga match will finally take place in the United States this season, Tebas concluded: “It’s always possible, but I don’t know if it will be Villarreal-Barcelona or another game.”
