Labyad suffers left knee twist on Neo Química Arena’s new pitch, substituted for Corinthians v Athletico-PR | OneFootball

Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad twisted his left knee during Corinthians v Athletico-PR on Thursday in the 21st round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

According to Globo.com, the incident came on the new surface at Neo Química Arena and he asked to be replaced.

It unfolded in the final minutes of the first half in a midfield challenge. Planting his foot to continue the move, he turned his body and the knee twisted.

He immediately signalled to the Corinthians bench for a substitution.

Medical staff treated him on the pitch, with concern from both teams, before he was taken to the home dressing room on a stretcher.
