Over the years, Liverpool have had some world class players among their ranks.

They're one of the biggest clubs in the world and easily one of the most recognisable.

This fact has helped them entice some of the world's best players to L4 with Bradley Barcola being the most recent example of that.

And, even though they spent over £450 million last summer, it's unclear whether they're actually better than they were when Jurgen Klopp was at the helm, even if they do look stronger on paper.

Because, when the German was in charge, no matter who Liverpool were up against, they were feared.

Whereas now, clubs feel like they could get lucky and sneak a win.

But, for Liverpool target Lamine Camara, that didn't stop him from suggesting that one of the Reds' former players was even better than Kylian Mbappe.

Klopp's time with Liverpool will be fondly remembered for years to come.

The German brought belief back to L4 and even made them Premier League and Champions League winners.

And, while a lot of this was down to the former Borussia Dortmund boss, without having certain players among his ranks, he'd have never done as well as he did.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk are just a few of the world-class players that Klopp had at his disposal.

The quartet rarely ever got injured and, when called upon, at least one of them always showed up.

Sadly, none of them ever won the Ballon D'Or while playing for the Anfield outfit but, for long-term Liverpool target Lamine Camara, Mane was a better player than Kylian Mbappe.

While speaking to Fotmob, Camara was asked to choose between 11 Senegal players and 11 AS Monaco players.

By the end of the video, the score ended 7-4 in Senegal's favour with the last choice being between Mbappe and Mane.

You'd have thought that this would've been a tough one to call but for Camara, within about a second, he'd chosen his fellow countryman.

Not only does this prove how good Mane was but it also shows how highly he is rated outside of L4.

Liverpool need to sign someone like Sadio Mane soon

Liverpool's attack may have welcomed two new left wingers in the summer but, that doesn't mean that their attack is ready to go up against Manchester City's.

Indeed, if Barcola, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak can all get on the same wavelength and start playing well with one another, they could easily out-do some of their Premier League rivals.

But, after Isak and Wirtz basically missed out on an entire season of getting used to one another, they still have a long way to go.

And, by January, when they're likely to be gelling, Hugo Ekitike is going to get added to the mix which could mess things up once again.

However, if Liverpool signed someone such as Mane again, they'd be much better off.

He was a Premier League-proven attacker and, even though he joined Liverpool as a right-winger, he left as one of the best left-wingers in the world.

In fact, Bayern Munich actually paid £35 million for the Senegal international despite him being 30 years old.

If Iraola can source a player of Mane's quality before the January transfer window, it's certainly a deal that Liverpool should think about pursuing.
