Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has admitted that he would love nothing more than to link up with Blaugrana transfer target Julián Alvarez at club level next season.
This of course comes amid the ongoing speculation linking the Argentine with a Camp Nou switch.
Alvarez has been publicly confirmed as Barcelona’s no.1 target to replace Robert Lewandowski as Hansi Flick’s attacking spearhead for the 2026/27 campaign.
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Wednesday, in fact, Joan Laporta did not shy away from admitting:
“I have spoken with Atlético: we sent an offer and we know that Julián has wanted to come to Barça for a long time, since he was at Man City.”
And as alluded to above, equally keen for the transfer to come to fruition over the weeks ahead is none other than Lamine Yamal.
During an interview with El Larguero, as cited by journalist Fabrizio Romano, this week, youngster Lamine responded as follows when drawn on the prospect of joining forces with Alvarez in Catalunya’s capital:
“I hope Julián Álvarez joins Barcelona. If he comes, we’ll welcome him with open arms. He’d be joining the best club in the world. If I were in his position, I’d do it. We’re waiting for him if he wants to come. He’s more than welcome.”
