Leapmotor talks advance as Palmeiras near new sponsorship | OneFootball

Leapmotor are in advanced talks to sponsor Palmeiras following Fictor’s exit, with a deal for the coming years understood to be close. According to Nosso Palestra, both sides are treating negotiations with optimism.

Discussions also involved Eduardo Silva, the club’s former marketing superintendent, who was dismissed on Friday 13. The interest first emerged on Wednesday 11.

Leapmotor views Palmeiras’ recent success across all categories as a platform to boost brand visibility, drive demand and increase vehicle sales in Brazil.

With BYD sponsoring Corinthians and seeking Morumbi naming rights, Leapmotor sees entry into football as necessary to compete in a growing market.

The company has already moved into South American football by sponsoring Universidad Católica in Chile, months after beginning operations there, and aims to replicate that with Palmeiras.

Founded in 2015 and based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, the Chinese firm develops and manufactures intelligent electrified vehicles. It covers smart driving, electric motor control, battery systems and cloud-based vehicle networks, led by founder Mr Zhu Jiangming, an electrical engineer with more than 30 years of technical experience.

In Brazil, Leapmotor launched officially in November 2025 and is a member of Stellantis, whose brands include Fiat, Jeep, Ram, Citroën and Peugeot.
