Leeds United extended their unbeaten Premier League run to six with a disciplined 0-0 at Liverpool, stifling the reigning champions at Anfield.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke rotated boldly, benching in-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin amid four changes, only one enforced. Lukas Nmecha led the line and the point justified the call, despite the forward having scored seven in six. If Calvert-Lewin returns to score in a win over Manchester United on Sunday, Farke would take the plaudits.

With Joe Rodon out, Sebastiaan Bornauw made his first Premier League start and looked assured. He briefly lost Hugo Ekitike for a first-half header that went astray, but dominated in the air and made six clearances, second only to Pascal Struijk. He went off in the 82nd minute with cramp and Leeds will hope he is fine for Sunday.

James Justin was arguably Leeds’ standout. Excellent at right wing-back in place of Jayden Bogle, he later slotted in at right centre-back alongside Jaka Bijol and Struijk. A superb first-half block denied Florian Wirtz after Ekitike escaped Bijol.

Liverpool mustered one effort on target after the break, a long-range strike from Dominik Szoboszlai, with Wirtz, Ekitike and Cody Gakpo held at arm’s length. It was Leeds’ first clean sheet since the 0-0 against Newcastle United in August and their first away shutout of the season, achieved without Rodon. Farke later called it a stubborn display.

Ethan Ampadu will miss Sunday at Manchester United after a booking for a contentious handball. Referee Chris Kavanagh endured a difficult evening. Farke must now adjust, though Ilia Gruev impressed at Anfield.
