Leeds fight back to earn point against Brentford | OneFootball

Leeds United fought back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against Brentford at Elland Road and extend both sides’ unbeaten starts to the Premier League season.

Brentford made the stronger start and created several chances inside the opening 10 minutes. Igor Thiago was denied by James Trafford from a tight angle, while Kevin Schade and Mikkel Damsgaard also went close.

Leeds struggled to threaten before the break and were dealt another blow when Joe Rodon went off injured. Brentford eventually got their reward just before half-time, with Schade producing a superb flick into the far corner from Keane Lewis-Potter’s teasing delivery.

The Bees continued to control the game after the restart, but Leeds gradually grew into the contest. Dan James missed a great opportunity to equalise when he raced through but lifted his effort over the bar.

The hosts finally levelled in the 75th minute when Dominic Calvert-Lewin tapped home from close range after Lukas Nmecha’s delivery caused problems in the Brentford defence.

Trafford then made an important save to deny Thiago as the visitors searched for an immediate response.

Both sides pushed for a late winner, but neither could find it, leaving them with a point apiece.
