Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that Leeds United are in the mix to recruit Burnley forward Zian Flemming. O’Rourke said,

“I think Leeds and a number of clubs will have taken note of Flemming.

“He’s probably been the shining light for Burnley in a disappointing season with 10 goals in the Premier League. Flemming has had a very good season, personally.

“With now Burnley suffering relegation from the Premier League, the vultures will probably be circling for their best players, and there is no doubt that Flemming is among those top performers

“Leeds, again, could be a good fit for him because they probably will look to strengthen their attacking options in the summer.

“I think there’ll be interest abroad as well, probably from his native Netherlands, with clubs maybe hoping that they could lure him back.

“He’s a player that Burnley are probably expecting interest and offers for, and they’re going to probably have to cash in on them if he does have interest from clubs in the Premier League and even from top clubs from abroad as well.”

Flemming’s Impressive Form In English Football

Flemming has managed to catch the eye at times with his performances as the focal point of the Burnley attack. The 27-year-old has netted 11 times in 30 matches for the Lancashire club this season across various competitions.

The Dutch striker’s current deal at Turf Moor will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Whites to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Will Flemming Be A Good Choice For Leeds United Boss Daniel Farke?

Flemming is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He is usually quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty area and is a strong runner with the ball at his feet.

The Dutch forward is quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Leeds.

We can expect Flemming to bring a lot of goals to Daniel Farke’s frontline. He is good enough to compete with Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a regular starting role at the West Yorkshire club in the coming seasons.

At 27, Flemming is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent choice for the Whites to pursue later this year. All in all, Farke would be wise to move in for him in the upcoming transfer period.
