Leeds United have condemned homophobic chanting during Sunday’s Premier League match against Brighton at Elland Road.
It came in Daniel Farke’s final home game of the Premier League season, which his side won 1-0 through a 96th-minute goal from Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The club said in a statement on Monday that discriminatory chanting has no place in football.
Extra cameras were deployed in the stands for the fixture, and anyone identified will receive a lengthy stadium ban.
The club were also aware of Jimmy Savile chants, though this does not make other discriminatory or homophobic chanting acceptable.
Leeds were fined £150,000 in March 2023 for the same offence against Brighton.
